Now I know it is now fall, so the fireflies are gone for the season. This gives me enough time to get my new invention manufactured and distributed by the time next summer rolls around.

So, the idea is to make a product that attracts and captures live fireflies, which you then take and put into the REAL product – a “garlic press” for fireflies.

Why would you need such a thing you ask? For makeup of course! Think of how cool you would look on a night out on the town with a flourescent green/yellow glow on your eyelids. Picture yourself grinding on the dance floor of a club, and all the male attention you’d get with glowing eyelids. Sound too good to be true? Well it’s not!

The kit would include a firefly trap, a firefly “press” if you will, and a small “eyeglow” makeup brush. The best thing about it is that it is economical (you don’t have to BUY refills, you just catch them) and it is natural and biodegradable (no drilling for oil here).

How much would you pay for something like this? Suggestions welcome.

?: Honestly, if you are serious, I do not believe this is possible to market, sell or make any money on. You have to think of how many people would actually buy this. First, you need to be in a place with a lot of fireflies. Second, you have to catch them. Third, you have to be someone that wants to crush a bug and kill it. Fourth, you have to be someone that wants to put smashed dead bugs on your face. Fifth, you need to want to go to a club with this on your face. You may be the only one on the planet that would want to do this.

Taja: I think this is an excellent idea!! I go to raves all the time and I’m always looking for a way to get guys to notice me. I would pay a lot of money for a device such as this… I’m curious about one thing though – how many fireflies would it take per eyelid? I’m guessing around three, but I’m not positive.
